We have had the good fortune of having Iana Ahilov as a piano teacher for our three children since our youngest daughter was eight (8), she is now 14. The qualities that make Iana an exceptional teacher is her kind heart, generosity of spirit and her dedication to her students. Iana has an innate ability to inspire in her students the desire to strive to do their best and to feel pride in their accomplishment. We highly recommended Iana to anyone who is looking for an amazing piano teacher.

I
ana has been an amazing piano teacher and coach for our 3 children over a period of 10 years. She has taught them from grade 1 to 9 RCM, demonstrating patience, passion and firmness early on, perseverance, assertiveness and a great deal of musical discipline and expression as they moved on. The conceptual capability, confidence, study habits and overall skills they have acquired with Iana have carried over across many other disciplines as they become young adults.

Iana has been my children’s piano teacher for 3 years. Iana is very enthusiastic about music & teaching children. Iana provides a very positive learning environment and has adapted the program & approach for my children based on their needs. Iana goes over and above to ensure my children are well prepared for their exams and performances and keeps me well informed of their progress. I have seen amazing progress in both of my children’s playing ability. The discipline & appreciation of music that Iana has developed in my children has translated in their academic achievements and has made it so much easier for them to learn new instruments at school. Iana’s approach to teaching ensures strong technical development but more importantly, Iana instills a life-long appreciation of music with her students.

Iana Ahilov taught piano to our 2 daughters Marie-Emma (10 years’ old) and AnneCaroline (8 years’ old) during the past 3 years we have been living in Toronto. We have seen major improvements in the girls’ skills during these 3 years, Iana pays attention to details and is very thorough in her teaching. She has focus both on the technical side (rounded fingers, position of the hand when playing scales…) and on the musical side (dynamics, emotion and story that every piece should express). She inspires and motivates students, always stays very positive. She is very professional and committed and has been very flexible, is always opened for discussion. She is very kind and patient with children. She has demonstrated her care for the student’s development. We will definitely miss Iana and wish we could take her back to France with us.
